Rationale: I made my theme inhumanity for multiple reasons. The first is the obvious inhumanity of the Holocaust. This atrocity is indisputably an act that no human could ever go through with in his right mind. You would have to be a monster to truly believe that all Jews deserve to die because of their faith. Another reason I chose this theme was the phrase “inhumanity of man against man.” This quote came directly from The Last Days, and it really inspired me. I wonder, how could one man do so much harm and inhumane things to a fellow human being? Was it for personal gain? Or was it simply cruelty? I will probably never know, but I will always wonder. The final reason that I chose this theme was its obvious connection to you and me. We are all human. What if it wasn’t Jews that were targeted, but if it were Catholics? My grandfather and grandmother would have both been persecuted in France and Italy by the Nazi regime. Any one of us could have been on the wrong end of this atrocious dilemma. We just happened to get lucky.
